“Some of them are deliberate” .. imposing a curfew due to forest fires in Chile

Chilean President Gabriel Boric issued decree to impose a state of emergency in two areas in the center and south of the country due to the threat of severe forest fires.
The president said that the procedures applied in Nubli and Molly, which aim to protect forests, fields, homes and humans, will include a curfew to allow the authorities to deal with criminal acts.

“He has reasons to believe that a large part of the burning fires in the Arakania region today (south of the capital Santiago) was intentional.”
“We will not tolerate the malicious behavior of a person or organization that commits this type of act,” Boric added.

The local authorities stated that there are about 15 active fires that are currently widespread in Chile, including the temperatures that exceeded 40 degrees Celsius.
