Sharjah, February 9 / WAM / The Kingdom of Morocco announced the choice of the Emirate of Sharjah, the guest of honor of the 30th session of the International Publishing and Writers Exhibition in Rabat organized by the Culture Sector at the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Moroccan Communication between April 17 and 27 in the Swissi Olm space in Rabat in appreciation of its status International on the map of the capitals of knowledge and to celebrate the project of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah Cultural and Civilization.
This came during the signing of an agreement signed by Khawla Al -Mujini, Director of Events and Marketing Department at the Sharjah Book Authority, and a pleasant woman, the general coordinator of the International Publishing and Writers Exhibition in Rabat and the director of the Moroccan Archive Foundation.
This choice opens new horizons to enhance Arab cultural exchange and consolidate relations between the makers of thought and knowledge from the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco, where Sharjah organizes during its participation in the exhibition a rich cultural program that embodies the betting and the history of the Emirati literary and creative scene and reviews the aesthetics of the Emirati local heritage and the common values that bring it together with its Moroccan counterpart.
Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Books Board of Directors, said that culture remains the widest doors through which people and countries can meet and dialogue, as they are not only literature, art and music, but are the identity of the society and the values that it adheres to, so Morocco’s celebration of Sharjah represents the guest of honor of the Rabat exhibition The international book is a renewed horizon to discover the participants that bring together the Emirati and Moroccan peoples and an opportunity to deepen strong historical relations that bring together the two countries.
She added that Morocco presented a great knowledge heritage not only for the Arab Library, but also for the World Library and throughout history, it was an incubator for large thinkers, writers and scholars, so we do not look at this celebration as a Moroccan celebration of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates, but we see an opportunity for a dialogue between the East and Morocco with its full cultural and civilizational diversity.
Sheikha Badour expressed her pride in this hosting and aspiration to an active participation in the exhibition by presenting a cultural program that reflects the richness of the Emirati literary scene and enhances the opportunities for cooperation between publishers, thinkers and writers from both sides, in a way that contributes to enriching the Arab cultural scene and opens a broader horizon to communicate with the international literary scene.
For his part, His Excellency Mohamed Mahdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, expressed his happiness to host Sharjah as a guest of honor of the 30th session of the International Publishing and Writers Exhibition in Rabat, indicating that this reflects the strength and depth of the historical and fraternal relations that bring together the Kingdom of Morocco and the UAE.
His Excellency Bensaid added that she will be an important opportunity for visitors to the International Publishing and Writers Exhibition to learn about the culture, history and efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah in the field of culture and writers, which we have known during Morocco’s hosting a guest of honor of the Sharjah Book Fair, which was successful by all standards thanks to what His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin is doing Muhammad al -Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council of the Federation, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah.
He concluded by saying: “Once again, she is welcome to Sharjah in Rabat and the International Publishing and Book Fair, which will be suitable for deepening cultural cooperation and strengthening brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries.”
In turn, His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakad Al -Amiri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority, said that the Kingdom of Morocco has always been a cultural beacon that brings together the depth of Arab Islamic heritage and the influences of world human thought. The vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who made culture a basis for building relations between peoples, believing that knowledge is the first pillar of civilizational renaissance and sustainable development.
Al -Amiri added that, under the leadership of Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, we will continue to work to enhance Arab and international cultural exchanges, as this participation constitutes an opportunity to consolidate cooperation with Morocco and expand the horizons of partnership between the intellectuals, publishers, Emirati and Moroccans, especially since Sharjah and Rabat are intersecting in a cultural project based on supporting the book industry and enabling the movement Translation and stimulating intellectual production that enhances the presence of Arab culture globally.
Sharjah is preparing to enrich the experience of visitors to the International Publishing and Writers Exhibition in Rabat with an integrated cultural program, where the Sharjah Book Authority offers activities that showcase the history of the proof of the Emirati literary and creative movement in its various forms and hosts more than 15 Emirati publishing houses. It also organizes dialogue sessions that bring together Emirati and Moroccan writers and thinkers with the aim of enhancing bridges Cultural and intellectual exchange between the two sides.
The participation program includes workshops for children to introduce them to the Emirati heritage and a series of heritage shows that reflect the diversity and richness of the Emirati cultural scene and the celebration of the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy. A group of Emirati calligraphers with their Moroccan counterparts participate in providing joint paintings, making the Emirati participation in the exhibition an integrated space and an exceptional experience that combines literature, art and heritage.
