Abu Dhabi, February 10/ WAM/ His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy, Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said that the aviation sector is one of the vital pillars of the global economy, as it represents between 12% to 13% of the gross domestic product in some countries And provides millions of jobs not only in the UAE, but at the world level, indicating that it reflects the increasing support the sector and its pivotal role in promoting global economic growth.
His Excellency added, in statements on the sidelines of the launch of the “ICAO symposium to support implementation” activities and the “World Sustainable Aviation Market” initiative in Abu Dhabi, that the most important contributions of the aviation sector are to provide job opportunities and enhance economic growth, as the aviation sector’s contribution to the global economy is estimated at about 4.1 trillion A dollar, and provides millions of jobs, which reflects its direct impact on the prosperity of individuals, families and societies.
His Excellency pointed out that aviation has a fundamental role in stimulating the tourism sector, as 58% of international tourists depend on air travel, in addition, the efficiency of air transport contributes to linking companies to global markets, and facilitating tourists ‘access to their destinations, and also enhances companies’ ability Access to customers and suppliers around the world.
He said that the aviation sector contributes to enhancing social and comprehensive interdependence, by linking remote and deprived areas to urban centers, which provides access to basic services such as health care, education and economic opportunities, and also plays a very important role in humanitarian relief efforts, starting from responding to natural disasters to reach to Medical evacuation, which helps reduce geographical obstacles.
His Excellency stressed the importance of initiatives aimed at ensuring that no country is left behind the knees, which is in line with the strategic goals of the aviation sector, pointing out that these initiatives are an essential part of efforts to enhance the sector’s readiness for the future, through cooperation and joint work to ensure that everyone benefits from the potentials Flying in development and prosperity.
