المملكة: Warning people of the phenomenon of begging .. The topic of the next Friday sermon

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Al Sheikh issued a directive to the preachers of mosques in various regions of the Kingdom.
The guidance included the allocation of the next Friday sermon corresponding to the fifteenth of the month of Shaban 1446 AH, to warn people of the danger of the phenomenon of begging and sympathy for beggars, and a statement that it is an alien to Saudi society, and it may stand behind individuals and external authorities.

The danger of begging phenomenon

The guidance of mosques also included the importance of asserting the worshipers that the Muslim exert his effort to investigate those in need of zakat and charity, who are prevented by modesty and chastity from asking people, and that zakat only pays to those who deserve it.
The guidance also included the need for preachers to show people that most of the profession of begging is one of the expatriates who pretend to be needed and destitute.
He added: And that Islamic law urges a person to work, even if his wages are few better than asking people, and that a person who is able to work and gain is not permissible for him to charity and inference in that with what was stated in the Holy Qur’an and the noble Prophet’s Sunnah.

Warning from beggars

It also included the guidance of Minister Al -Sheikh to the preachers of mosques on the importance of their warning to people of sympathy for the beggars and to show the danger of this to the country socially, economically and security.
This is because many of these beggars are used by individuals and external parties, with the aim of raising money illegally.
The guidance also included, reaffirming the imams, preachers, and muezzins to prevent any person from begging inside the mosque, or in its vicinity and then inform the security authorities immediately when noting something of that.
