A challenge to carbon emissions … a rise in electric car sales globally

The sales of electric and hybrid cars are increasing around the world, as January alone witnessed a rise in sales, which amounted to 18% on an annual basis, at a time when the growth of those sales in Europe and the United States and its pace in the first time since February last year.
European public cars began a strong start, with the goals of reducing carbon dioxide emissions into effect in the European Union, at a time when the new Chinese year holidays led to a decrease of 43% on a monthly basis.

Globally sales

The data showed that the global sales of the entire electric cars and the external rechargeable hybrid cars increased 17.7% year on year to 1.3 million cars in January, which is the third consecutive month of quiet growth.
As for sales in China, 11.8% increased year to 0.7 million cars in that month, while Europe announced the registration of 0.25 million cars, 21% increase from the same month last year.

In the United States and Canada, the sales of these cars increased 22.1% to 0.13 million cars in January, and in the rest of the world, January sales increased by 50%, but on an annual basis, global sales fell 35% with pressure from 43% decrease in China compared to December.
