40 Australian companies offer their most prominent defense industries in "IDEX"

Abu Dhabi, February 17 / WAM / Major General David Coglalan, head of the Australian delegation participating in the “IDEX” exhibition, confirmed that the relationship between Australia and the UAE extends for many years of close cooperation in the defense and industrial fields.
He said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” during the “IDEX” exhibition held in Abu Dhabi, that Australia is participating in the exhibition with 40 companies specialized in defense industries, with the aim of presenting Australian capabilities not only to the UAE, but also within the framework of strategic partnerships with local companies.
On the defensive industries sector in Australia, Coglan explained that this sector is still in the growth phase, but is witnessing continuous expansion, noting that the distant geographical location of Australia pushes it to enhance self -sufficiency and invest in developing advanced technologies.
He added that many Australian companies are already working with their counterparts in the Emirates, and some companies enter the Emirati market for the first time, noting that the experiences gained in the defensive field are exchanged with allies and partners to enhance joint security.
Regarding defense cooperation between Australia and the UAE, Coglan explained that this partnership includes the exchange of training, the supply of equipment, and the participation in joint military exercises.
He stressed that the relationship between the two countries has witnessed a continuous development over the past years, which reflects the level of mutual trust and commitment to strengthening common defense capabilities.
On the evaluation of the defensive market in the Middle East region, Coglan stressed that Australia sees in the region an important market, and is seeking to enhance cooperation with friendly and allied countries to enhance regional security.
