"Italian Agency" It expects a record growth in food exports to the Emirates during 2025

Dubai, February 17 / WAM / Matteo Zobas, head of the Italian Commercial Agency, confirmed that Italy is preparing to enhance its food exports to the UAE during the year 2025, targeting growth of more than 10% compared to last year.

He added in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of the “Glevoud 2025” exhibition, which was opened today at the Dubai World Trade Center, that drinks, baked products, and dairy products recorded the highest growth rates in 2024, where they increased by 30% on average, while Italian companies are preparing to launch new products in the organic and healthy food category, in response to changing consumer trends in the region.

Italy is participating in the Gulfood exhibition with a wing of more than 200 companies, which reflects its increasing commitment to the UAE market and the Middle East markets.

Zobas pointed out that the Italian food exports to the UAE have achieved 6% growth during the year 2024, and it is expected to continue to rise during 2025, driven by strong demand for luxury and sustainable Italian products.

He explained that the Italian government, in cooperation with the Italian Commercial Agency, launched financial and logistical support programs to help small and medium companies expand in foreign markets, especially in the Gulf countries, noting that the UAE is a major platform to reach broader markets.

He added that Italy aims to raise its total global food exports from 70 billion euros in 2024 to 100 billion euros in the coming years, with a focus on strategic markets such as the UAE, which imports 85% of its food needs.

For his part, Valerio Soldani, Italian Commercial Commissioner in the UAE, stressed that the high demand for Italian products in the Emirates reflects the strength of trade relations between the two countries, noting that Italy’s participation in “Glevoud 2025” aims to enhance the Italian presence in the regional food sector, especially in The category of organic and health products.

He explained that the Italian Commercial Agency is working to facilitate cooperation opportunities between Italian companies and their Emirati counterparts, noting that there is an increasing demand for Italian rice, which opens new horizons to enhance food exports to the region.

He said that these trends confirm that the year 2025 will be an important station for Italian food exports, with expectations of sustainable growth in the UAE market, driven by the quality of products and the support of the Italian government of exporting companies.
