Rashid Al Dhaheri leads the second round of the regional formula at Yas Circuit

Abu Dhabi, January 26 / WAM / Yesterday, Emirati champion Rashid Al Dhaheri topped the competitions of the second round of the Middle East Regional Formula Championship, at Yas World Circuit, recording a new achievement in his career after completing three victories in just seven days.

Al Dhaheri achieved an unprecedented achievement on January 18, as the first driver from the Middle East and North Africa region to achieve a victory in regional Formula races, before repeating the achievement on UAE soil with his French team, “R-ace GP.” During the weekend, Rashid achieved a new track record with a time of 1:40.480 minutes.

Al Dhaheri topped the free trials last Friday, and came second in Q1 and Q2 during qualifying, starting from second place in the first round race, where he seized the lead at the first turn and dominated the race until the end, despite the caution periods and the red flag, to cross the finish line first out of 31 cars, also setting the fastest lap.

In the second race, he started from twelfth place according to the reverse start system, and advanced to tenth place in the first lap, before falling to fifteenth place due to less than ideal car settings, leaving without points.

Al Dhaheri returned strongly in the third race, starting from second place, and seized the lead at the first turn, and maintained it throughout the race time of 28 minutes plus one lap, achieving his second victory last weekend, and setting the fastest lap again.

With these results, Rashid Al Dhaheri leads the overall standings of the championship, before the third round scheduled for next week at the Dubai Autodrome, where he looks forward to continuing his streak of brilliance.
