Hassan Al -Hosani, CEO of smart solution data, affiliated with “Space 42”, said that “Space 42” signed a strategic partnership with the Finnish international “Iceye” company specialized in the field of radar satellite technology “SAR”, with the aim of transferring technology and exchanging knowledge.
Al -Hosani, in statements to Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of the activities of “IDEX” 2025, held in Abu Dhabi, indicated that the first two satellites were manufactured in Finland, with the participation of “Space 42”, but as of 2025, the following satellites will be manufactured Partially in the Emirates, with the full manufacture of the last three satellites in manufacturing facilities by 2026.
He stressed that these projects reflect the ambitious Emirates vision to be among the world’s leading countries in the space sector, pointing out that the development of locally manufacturing capabilities enhances independence in this sector, and paves the way for creating advanced space solutions that meet the needs of the local and global markets.
And that the company is proceeding with its plans to enhance its capabilities in monitoring the land from space, and expanding its manufacturing capabilities locally, which contributes to the consolidation of the UAE’s position as a major player in the global space technology sector.
Al -Hosani pointed out that it is the first participation of “Space 42” under its new name in IDEX 2025 since the merger of “data” and “Yahsat”, pointing to the company reviewing an integrated group of services and space capabilities, including satellite communications, and the subsidized geometric solutions With artificial intelligence.
He stated that “Space 42”, the Forsite constellation of seven satellites launched radar photography, which will provide advanced capabilities to monitor Earth and data analysis.
He explained that two satellites were already launched, and they are now in the operating orbit, adding that the company presented during its participation in the current exhibition the first satellite image taken by one of these satellites for the city of Abu Dhabi.
He pointed out that the company is moving at an advanced pace on the schedule for the implementation of the project, where additional moons will be launched during the years 2025 and 2026, with the constellation completely completed by 2027, which enhances the UAE capabilities in the field of remote sensing and provides accurate data to support the various sectors, including security and defense To urban planning and disaster management
He pointed to the signing of a partnership with the company “Edge” to build a greater ability in local manufacturing and transfer knowledge and technology.
