“Al -Faw” honors Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in appreciation of her pioneering contributions to women

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) honored Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, in appreciation of her prominent contributions to empowering women and promoting sustainable development at the national and international levels.
This came during a celebration held in Abu Dhabi at the headquarters of the General Women’s Union, on the occasion of the eighties of the organization’s founding, in cooperation with the United Nations Women.
The honor received on behalf of her Highness, Noura Khalifa Al -Suwaidi, Secretary -General of the General Women’s Union, in the presence of a group of officials and representatives of diplomatic missions in the country, where the march of the “mother of the Emirates” and her legacy that extends in supporting women and enabling them to play their vital role was highlighted.
The ceremony witnessed the presentation of a special visual clip that reviews the march of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak and her policies in the field of supporting and empowering women at the national and international levels and the most prominent initiatives launched by Her Highness to enhance the role of women in various sectors, and the leading contribution of Her Highness in supporting sustainable development and combating poverty and hunger.
Mr. Kayan Akram Jaf, head of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Mission (FAO) of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and Yemen, expressed his gratitude for the leadership of the UAE for its continuous commitment to sustainable development issues, noting that the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “May God rest his soul “A inspiration is still an inspiration in the efforts to combat hunger and poverty.
