Sharjah libraries reveal the activities program "Centenary" For the coming months

Sharjah, February 21 / WAM / Sharjah public libraries launch their cultural activities program, to celebrate the hundred years since its establishment, as celebrations extend over a full year, and include activities that highlight the role of libraries in promoting knowledge, documenting cultural heritage, and consolidating reading as a basic axis in Daily life.

Within the framework of this program, libraries organize a series of events during the next three months, which combine intellectual discussions, cultural tours, and interactive workshops, with the participation of a group of writers, specialists and researchers, and in cooperation with a group of cultural institutions in the country.

The first centenary of Sharjah libraries will start on February 27 at the University of Sharjah, in cooperation with the Emirati Publishers Association and includes a seminar entitled “Literary Roots”, in which Amira Abu Kadra, Vice President of the Emirati Publishers Association.

The symposium discusses Sharjah’s contribution to making literature and knowledge an integral part of its cultural identity, and ways to consolidate reading for future generations, in addition to the participation of the “platform” company for distribution and the “Read .. You in Sharjah” initiative to enhance the culture of reading.

The symposium is accompanied by an interactive workshop in creative writing, which is presented by the writer Abdel Hadi Taqi, to review the texts on a tree that inspired by the concept of “literary roots”, to reflect the role of writing in the extension of the roots of knowledge and creativity in society.

Within the “Cultural Renaissance” axis in the centenary of Sharjah libraries, the Arabic Language Academy organizes a cultural tour in the Emirate of Sharjah for a group of Arabists with the aim of promoting cultural communication and openness to Arab civilization, by highlighting the first roots of the emirate’s libraries and its pivotal role in the emergence The prosperity of culture in the UAE, and the tour includes a visit to the tourist attractions in Khorfakkan, which allows The participants have an opportunity to closely discover the cultural history of the emirate.

The event permeates a group of cultural paragraphs, where the Arabists offer poetic readings of a group of masterpieces of Arabic literature, in addition to throwing literary texts that reflect their interaction with the Arabic language and their mastery of them as they share their personal experiences in learning the Arabic language.

On April 29, Sharjah libraries will organize the “Tales of Heritage Tales”, in the “Hafeh Reserve for Nature Conservation” of the Environment and Reserve Authority, in cooperation with the Sharjah Heritage Institute, within the axis of “Cultural Civilization”, targeting children of 6-13 years.

The event aims to instill heritage values ​​in the hearts of children and introduce them to the Emirati cultural heritage through three interactive stations that combine narrative narration, traditional arts, and recreational activities.

Within the event “Reviving forgotten pages”, Sharjah libraries will organize on May 29 at the Sharjah Museum of Antiquities, in cooperation with the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage and the Sharjah Museum of Antiquities, a lecture entitled “Home Library: Promotion of Reading and Organizing Books”, where books to preserve books and methods are reviewed Motivating families to integrate reading into their daily lives and includes the “Book Clinic” effectiveness, which It allows the participants to learn the methods of cleaning and memorizing old books, as well as a workshop for traditional books and designing them with innovative artistic styles.

The event concludes with a tour of the Sharjah Museum of Antiquities, where the participants explore the Hall of the Iron Age and the Great Arab Peninsula Hall, and learn about the first writings that appeared in Sharjah using the Southern Musnad line as they are in the experience of simulating old writing on clay, to engrave their names and evoke the role of writing in documenting history and memorizing Knowledge, to emphasize the importance of the book as an authentic source of human civilization.
