After the historical argument with Trump .. Is Zelinski leaving the Ukrainian presidency?

On Sunday, US officials hinted that the Ukrainian president should leave after the unprecedented verbal argument with the American President.
It appears that the anger left by the catastrophic failure to meet Friday at the White House is not yet calm.
“We need a leader who is able to deal with us, deal with the Russians at one time and end this war,” said White House National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which started three years ago.
“If President Zellinski no longer wants, whether for personal or political motives, to end the war in his country, I think we will face a real problem,” he added in an interview with CNN.

Zelinski and Trump’s argument

A sharp verbal argument between Trump and Zelinski in front of the media at the White House on Friday, during the Ukrainian President, was subjected to accusations of not respecting the United States and lack of gratitude for its efforts to end the war between Kiev and Moscow.
As a result, an agreement was signed on Washington’s investment of Ukrainian minerals.
Washington considers that such an agreement will link the fate of the two countries, and thus Russia will deter any new attack against Ukraine. But Zelinski is calling for explicit security guarantees.
On Sunday, the American President wrote a post on his “Truth Suchs” platform in which he said that “from now on, Zelinski will not have a choice but to retreat and accept the conditions set by Trump.”
Trump described the Ukrainian president last week as a “dictator”, questioning his democratic legitimacy.

Change “behavior”

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson confirmed on Sunday that “something should change.”
“Either (Zelinski) will return to his senses and to the negotiating table with gratitude, or on another person he takes the presidency of the country to do so,” he told the NBC station.
After the verbal argument, Republican Senator Lindsay Graham, who is close to Trump, said, “Zelinski should radically change his position or leave.”
Waltz talked about a “great missed opportunity”, stressing that he “shocked” the argument and the behavior of Zelinski.
He explained that this raised doubts about the desire of Zelinski “to be a day ready to negotiate with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin or” to end this war. “

Waltz rejected any talk about the “ambush” of the Ukrainian President by Trump and his deputy, Jay de Verse, and reaffirmed that Ukraine should make “concessions on land” to end the war with Russia.
He added that “Europe will give security guarantees”, at a time when Kiev’s allies met in London on Sunday in the presence of Zelinski.
Zelinski responded sarcastically and suggested that the Senator Lindsay Graham was “Ukrainian nationality”.
He said during an interview with British media on Monday, “His voice will be greater and I will start listening to him as a Ukraine citizen to find out who should be president,” he said during an interview with British media.
He stressed, “Given what is happening, and given the support, my replacement simply will not be so easily,” adding, “The issue will not be just organizing elections. Rather, it will also have to prevent the candidacy, which will be somewhat more complicated.”
The Ukrainian President, who made his country obtaining absolute initial security guarantees, suggested once again to abandon his position in exchange for Ukraine joining the NATO. “If we get NATO and the war ends, this means that I have accomplished my mission,” he said.
In the United States, other personalities, including Republican representatives, expressed their dissatisfaction with the resignation of Zeilinsky.
“Frankly, this will be dumping Ukraine in chaos,” Republican Senator James Lancford told the NBC station.

Shock in Europe

Donald Trump’s trend towards Russia after he made a phone call with Vladimir Putin on February 12, a shock in Europe and all over the world.
Expert Max Bergman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington described what happened on Friday as a “sad day” in the Atlantic relations, and saw that “this is clear that this raises questions about the future of Ukraine, but also the future of NATO (NATO).”
For his part, Trump’s adviser, Elon Musk, confirmed, in a post on the X platform on Saturday evening, that he “supports” what one of the influencers published and said that “the time has come to withdraw from NATO and the United Nations.”
