Sharjah Chamber expects a memorandum of understanding with its counterpart in Bangladesh

Sharjah, March 5 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, with the aim of strengthening trade relations and developing economic partnerships between the business community in the two countries.
The memo states the importance of expanding areas of cooperation between private sector companies, integrating efforts to introduce investors to the available investment opportunities, encourage continued growth in the targeted markets, and to upgrade cooperation in the field of specialized commercial exhibitions to support companies operating in the Emirates and Bangladesh.
This came during the work meeting organized by the Sharjah Chamber in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Texin Ahmed, President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al -Awadi, Director General of Sharjah Chamber, and a number of senior officials of the Chamber and representatives of major companies and the private sector.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais affirmed the commitment of the Sharjah Chamber to provide a modern support system for companies and investors coming from Bangladesh, with the aim of enabling them to develop their business and achieve sustainable success.
He pointed out that the Chamber realizes the great capabilities of economic relations between the two sides, and seeks to invest them by relying on the remarkable development in economic relations between Sharjah and Bangladesh, which is clearly reflected in the last numbers and statistics, as the value of non -oil -oil trade between the two sides amounted to 5.1 billion dirhams during the first nine months of 2024, a growth of 23.4% compared to the same period in 2023.
For his part, the Bangladeshi delegation affirmed the private sector’s interest in Dhaka to enhance cooperation with its counterpart in Sharjah in various fields, including the e -commerce that is witnessing an unprecedented expansion, in addition to vital sectors such as medical services and food industries that have a large priority in sustainable development strategies.
