Prince Sultan University has achieved a prominent academic achievement, ranked first in the International Times Specialization Classification for 2025 in the quality of scientific research between Saudi universities, and the superiority rate reached 90.5%, superior to leading local and international universities in the field.
This achievement reflects the university’s commitment to providing high -quality research and enhancing its academic and societal impact within the framework of its continuous development efforts to enhance the quality of its academic programs and consolidate its position internationally.

Times classification

This classification came based on five main criteria that include the educational environment that is evaluated based on the academic reputation and the percentage of faculty members to students, the level of graduate studies and institutional income, in addition to the research environment that depends on the number of published research, research reputation and income resulting from scientific research,
The quality of scientific research is also measured by the rates of research certificates, the research force and academic excellence, while the classification takes into account the international view of universities through indicators of international research partnerships and the numbers of students and international teaching staff as well as the standard of excellence in the areas of innovation and income.

Research efforts

The director of the Research and Initiatives Center, Dr. Dhafer Al Mukhlis, explained that this achievement is the fruit of a clear vision, ambitious goals and strategic research efforts made by the university, noting that achieving the first rank was not a goal in itself, but the university seeks to provide research that creates a real impact in society and enhances its research position by expanding industrial partnerships, increasing external financing, and creating new research laboratories that are in line with With the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.
The university witnessed a tremendous growth in research production supported by its advanced infrastructure, which includes 23 laboratories and research group and more than 300 active researchers and through its research strategy 2024-2030, where Prince Sultan University seeks to enhance its position globally through transformational initiatives that include financing research projects, innovation incubators and knowledge exchange platforms to ensure that researchers get the necessary resources and support To make a sustainable influence on academic society, industry and society.
