The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources participates in the activities of the tenth energy summit in Africa

Within the policy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to enhance cooperation with the countries of the African continent and build partnerships with governments and major private sector companies in a way that contributes to maximizing the benefit of oil, gas and energy resources, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, participated in the tenth energy activities of Africa hosted by the American capital, Washington, during the day 6-7 March 2025. & quot; The future of partnership between the United States and Africa in the energy field & quot; & nbsp; In the presence of a large number of ministers and high -ranking government officials from the United States and Africa, as well as investors and leaders of the energy sector, private sector financiers and service and technology providers from North American countries, with the aim of discussing ways to accelerate energy development in the African continent. & Nbsp; Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, delivered an opening speech at the ministerial session that was held under the title & quot; African leadership & quot; In the presence of a number of ministers and senior government officials in African countries such as Jeraimaia Kaban Kong, Vice President of Liberia, Adebayo Adelapo, Minister of Energy to the State of Nigeria, Daily Aki, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Nigeria, Leila Ben Ali, Minister of Energy Transformation and Sustainable Development, State of Morocco, Bogolo Kinings, Minister of Minerals and Energy, Botswana, and Yulio Mewit, Minister of Energy and Energy Resources Development, Zimbabwe, Mathouli Nkopi, Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, in Zimbabwe, Robert Kofi Eclu, Minister of Mines and Energy Resources, in Togo, Prince Lunkhlakhla Dlamini, Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, Issawini, and Nani Jawara, Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Gambia, Matai, Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, Sierra Leone, Alex Watsira, the main secretary, at the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, in Kenya, Muhammad Abdullah Farah, Minister of State for Energy and Water Resources, in Somalia, and Kiddah Joutaella, head of the energy sector and head of the presidential initiative on climate change, renewable energy and food security, in Sierra Leone. During his speech, Eng. Karim Badawi highlighted the strategic relations between the United States of America and the countries of the African continent, pointing to the important role of cooperation relations between Egypt and the United States of America in the energy sector and American oil companies in supporting the path of the oil sector in Egypt over the past years. Then he touched on the challenges facing the energy industry, especially in the African continent, on top of which is the problem of energy poverty, as nearly 600 million Africans lacks access to electricity, and represent 83 percent of the world’s energy deprived, which topped the African Energy Summit in the Tanzanian capital, Dar es Salaam at the end of last January. He also touched on the great opportunities that the continent is full of, whether in oil and gas resources or renewable energies of wind energy and solar energy. Engineer Karim Badawi stressed the importance of cooperation, integration and concerted efforts between the countries of the continent and the important role to build partnerships with governments and private sector companies and international financing institutions to achieve the optimal exploitation of the African continent’s wealth and resources in a way that contributes to achieving the aspirations of their peoples in obtaining sustainable energy sources compared to their wealth, pointing to the role of the African Petroleum Countries Organization of Appo in achieving integration between the countries of the continent in the field of energy And Egypt’s support for the organization’s efforts to contribute to the development of African energy markets and achieve the interests of the peoples of the continent. He also referred to the recently signed agreement in Cairo during the opening ceremony of the Eagles 2025 conference with the American Chevron Company in an important step to develop gas resources from the Cypriot Aphrodite field and link it to the assignment facilities in Egypt. & Nbsp; & nbsp; Engineer Karim Badawi also reviewed the priorities of the work and axes of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, on top of which is the increase in production and the intensification of drilling and exploration programs, and the efforts of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in cooperation with the various ministries in the Egyptian government to create a more attractive investment environment by adopting a package of reforms, including offering a motivational package to increase production and issuing a policy paper to stimulate investment.
