US presidents Donald Trump and Russian Vladimir Putin have ended a phone call that lasted for more than an hour in light of the White House pressure on Moscow to agree to a 30 -day ceasefire with Ukraine with the aim of ending the war.
The White House announced that the American president and his Russian counterpart agreed to seek a limited ceasefire in the energy and infrastructure sectors, as a first step to end the war in Ukraine.
While the Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin informed his American counterpart of the necessity of stopping the United States and its allies for military and intelligence aid to Ukraine in order to stop hostilities.

Trump said before the call he expected to discuss with Putin the lands and power plants that were seized during the three -year war.
However, Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski is still skeptical of the extent of Putin’s willingness to peace as Russian forces continue to bomb Ukraine.

War in Ukraine
Trump had told reporters on Monday: “What is happening in Ukraine is not good, but we will see whether we are able to reach a peace agreement, a ceasefire, and make peace. I think we will be able to do so.”
Trump added that Washington and Moscow have already started discussing the “division of certain origins” between Ukraine and Russia as part of an agreement to end the conflict.
