An Emirati team won an award "Nassa" For the best inspiring team

Dubai, March 20 / WAM / The Emirati team “Innovisionaries” achieved a global achievement by winning the “Best Inspiring Team” award, as part of the NASA Challenge for Space Applications for the year 2024, which witnessed the participation of 93 thousand contestants from 163 countries around the world, and the presentation of ten thousand innovative projects.
The team “InnovisionAri” was from the Emirate of Sharjah, which was strategically supported by Dubai University alongside the technical partner “Space.Tayar”, the only one who won the UAE, after he presented an innovative study plan for high school students, integrating the sustainable development goals into scientific curricula, such as weather, geology and soil health.
The winning teams will be honored at a ceremony to be held on June 4 in the “Godard Space Flight Center” in Greenbelt, USA.
Dr. Issa Al -Bastaki, President of Dubai University, stressed the importance of these competitions in consolidating the culture of creativity and innovation, noting that the victory of the Sharjah team reflects the strategic direction of the UAE in supporting innovators and enhancing youth skills.
Engineer Tariq Salah El -Din, CEO of the International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Company “GIE”, said that the challenge is a global platform for enhancing technological innovation, noting that the fifth edition of it attracted 202 teams from various emirates of the country, and the “Orbspace” team qualified for the global finals.
It is noteworthy that the “NASA Challenge for Space Applications” is the largest global Hackathon, which uses NASA data open to develop innovative solutions that address Earth and space challenges, which contributes to enhancing cognitive cooperation among young people globally.
