UNRWA Commissioner: Bringing aid as a “collective punishment” for the residents of Gaza

He reported the passage of three weeks since the Israeli authorities banned the introduction of supplies to Gaza, noting that Gaza residents depend on imports across Israel to survive.

He added: “A suffocating siege, longer than that which was imposed during the first stage of the war. No food, no medications, no water, no fuel. Every day it passes without entering aid means that more children sleep hungry. Diseases are spread, and deprivation is aggravated.”

Philip Lazarini warned that every day without food pushed Gaza towards an acute hunger crisis. He called for an immediate lifting of the siege, the release of all hostages, and the introduction of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies without interruption on a large scale.
