Trump announces a meeting with the Ukrainian president on Wednesday in Davos

US President Donald Trump announced that he will meet in Davos on Wednesday with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, on the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum, but Kiev denied his presence there.
During a speech before the forum, Trump touched on the issue of the war in Ukraine, announcing that he would meet Zelensky on Wednesday, “and he may be in the hall now.”
But the Ukrainian presidency told reporters that Zelensky “is currently in Kyiv.”
Speaking about Ukraine, Trump considered that NATO and Europe should “take care of Ukraine,” not the United States.
The US President said, “What does the United States gain from all this work, and from all this money, except death and destruction and huge sums of money going to people who do not appreciate what we do? They do not appreciate what we do.”
He added, “I’m talking about NATO, and I’m talking about Europe. They should care about Ukraine, not us. The United States is very far away. We are separated by a large, beautiful ocean. We have nothing to do with this.”
