Latifa bint Mohammed meets with the Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Davos

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with Matthias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, on the sidelines of the 56th session of the World Economic Forum held in the Swiss city of Davos.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, and Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, along with a number of senior officials from both sides.
During the meeting, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed the importance of the role played by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in supporting public policies, promoting comprehensive and sustainable development, and developing economic and institutional frameworks, noting the great compatibility between the axes of the organization’s work and the vision of the UAE in the areas of development, capacity building, improving the quality of government policies, enhancing the competitiveness of economies, and the country’s keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in these areas.
Her Highness noted the great role that the UAE plays in developing government work models, enhancing the efficiency of public policies, and benefiting from pioneering international experiences, which contribute to achieving sustainable development, raising the quality of life, and consolidating economic and social stability.
The meeting discussed a set of common development topics, including developing policies, enhancing good governance, supporting innovation, and building flexible economies capable of adapting to global changes, in addition to the importance of data and analysis in supporting decision-making, and exchanging best international practices in the fields of strategic planning and sustainable development.
