Stopping the registration of new students and canceling the registration of “citizens” in its “weak” evaluation schools in Sharjah

The Sharjah Special Education Authority revealed a set of procedures against schools that obtain “acceptable”, “weak” or “very weak” reviews in the results of the “Iqan” program, aimed at reviewing the quality of the performance of private schools in the emirate, noting that the procedures reach the suspension of the registration of new students, and the cancellation of Emirati students, while it reaches the cancellation of the profession’s practicing permit for the school principal if the evaluation continues at the same level for two consecutive sessions.
In detail, the Sharjah Special Education Authority directed a circular No. 39 of 2025 for the directors of private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah, regarding the legislation related to the results of the “Iqqan” program, which included administrative decision No. 70 of 2025 regarding the legislation related to the results of the “Iqan” program for schools that obtained the “acceptable” and “weak” evaluation.
The authority stated in the circular, which the Emirates Today viewed, that under the legislation, laws and regulations previously issued, and in accordance with the powers appointed to the authority, and based on what is required by the public interest, the schools for the implementation of what includes the decision are obligated, according to the evaluation of the school in the “Iqan” program, while it was decided to stop registration of all new students, cancel the registration of Emirati students, and deliver the necessary documents to students Emiratis for schools with “weak” or “very weak” evaluation, to enable them to move to other schools with good, or higher assessment according to the guardian’s selection.
The circular added: “As for schools that have an evaluation (acceptable), it was decided to stop the registration of new students from Emiratis, cancel the registration of Emirati students, and hand over the necessary documents to Emirati students to enable them to move to other schools with good or higher evaluation according to the selection of the guardian, and the registration of new students (Emiratis and others) will be suspended in the event that the school continues to obtain an evaluation (acceptable) in three consecutive courses.
In the second article of the decision, the commission set a set of procedures that it applies to schools in accordance with the evaluation of the school in the Etqan program, explaining that for schools that have the “weak” or “very weak” evaluation, the owner will not agree to a new school license, and not to agree to license a new stage or a new class, and cancel the upper stage license (from the ninth to 12 and the equivalent), and if the school continues during two consecutive sessions on two consecutive evaluation “Weak” or “very weak” under the management of the manager himself, the permit to practice the profession for the director issued by the authority is canceled.
With regard to schools that have an “acceptable” evaluation, the Sharjah Special Education Authority confirmed that if the school continues to obtain an “acceptable” evaluation in two consecutive sessions, it is not approved by licensing a new academic stage, and it is approved only to license a class for students enrolled in it and those who move to the upper grade, and in the event that the school gets an assessment of “acceptable” in three consecutive courses, it is not approved to license a stage or class New, and in the event that the school continues during three consecutive courses to evaluate the “acceptable” in the administration of the principal himself, the permit to practice the profession for the principal, issued by the commission, will be canceled.
The Sharjah Special Education Authority confirmed that the schools located within the scope of the decision will be updated after the end of each session for the Etqan program, while this decision is made from the date of its issuance.
