Brigadier Muslim Mohamed Al -Amri, Deputy Director of the Criminal Security Sector, said that the beggars are trying to gain the sympathy of the community members by fabricating misleading stories to take money, stressing the keenness of the police directorates to implement continuous campaigns to control the beggars, no matter how different the methods of their begging and their fraud methods on the public.

He urged the public to cooperate and participate positively with the police in reducing begging by ensuring that the alms and zakat are not distributed to the beggars, and to pay attention to continuing the work of goodness and charity by donating through official channels, bodies, institutions and charities to ensure donations reaching its beneficiaries.

He explained that the delivery of money or alms to the beggars is an unintended encouragement from some benefactors (to beggars) to continue to ask people, and this causes the spread of the crimes they commit under the cover of begging.
