“Dua” gets the highest classification to adhere to international standards in internal audit

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DIA) has obtained a “generally identical” rating in the evaluation conducted by the UAE’s Internal Auditors Association, and is the highest classification for compliance with international standards for professional practices for internal audit issued by the association.
This evaluation reflects the alignment of the authority’s practices in internal audit with the highest international standards and guidance, and its consolidation of the best governance practices, risk management and enhancing internal controls, which enhances confidence in its operational operations and contributes to achieving its strategic goals.
According to a statement issued yesterday, the Managing Director, CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, received the certificate at the headquarters of the authority, in the presence of Acting Vice President for Internal Auditing, Eng. Ahmed Hassan Mohamed Nour, and members of the internal audit team in the authority.
Al -Tayer said: “The authority’s obtaining the highest classification of compliance with international standards for the professional practice of internal audit issued by the Society of Internal Auditors in the UAE is our commitment to applying the highest standards of transparency, integrity and institutional governance, where we consider the internal audit a pivotal component in supporting the authority’s vision by being a world -class and innovative world -class institution committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.”
In turn, Nour said: “With the support and directives of the senior management of the authority, we are keen in the internal audit management to adopt the latest data analysis techniques and artificial intelligence in audits according to the highest local and international standards, and we are committed to applying the audit procedures in detail and providing results with integrity and efficiency to enhance the confidence of all concerned.”
It is noteworthy that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority follows the instructions and requirements of the ISO 37000 standard in the governance of institutions, and (BS 13500) in effective governance management systems, in addition to the Stock and Commodity Authority standards, and the Dubai Financial Market, and the authority is also keen on the standard comparison of its activities continuously with leading international companies and best practices in its fields of work.
