"The Union for Human Rights": The Emirates made peace an integral part of society

Abu Dhabi, April 4 / WAM / The Union for Human Rights Association confirmed that the UAE has made peace, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and human brotherhood, an inherent part of society, committed to the participation of these values ​​and principles with the whole world.
The association stated, on the occasion of the International Day of the Pronoun, which falls on April 5 of each year, that the UAE has advanced 31 centers on the World Peace Index for the year 2024 issued by the Institute of Economics and Peace in Sydney, through the launch of international initiatives and awards that celebrate the enhancement of tolerance and peace, including the establishment of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Peace Prize, the Emirates International Prize for Peace Poets, the Zayed Award for Humanitarian Brotherhood, the Mohammed bin Rashid tolerance.
She emphasized that the UAE has strengthened its position based on promoting stability and peace, and its ability to play a pivotal role in regional and international issues, and its participation in global development initiatives, as it ranked tenth in the global soft power index for the year 2025, as its ranking came among the ten most important countries globally in a number of fields, where it won the fourth place globally in generosity and giving, and the eighth position in the general index of international influence, and the ninth In both international relations, the influence on diplomatic circles.
He pointed out that the UAE also topped many global competitiveness indicators for the year 2024, by strengthening the institutional structure that protects human rights, as it won first place regionally and 37 globally in the law of the rule of law, and achieved the first place regionally and the seventh globally in the gender equality index, and ranked first regionally and the sixth globally in the education quality index, indicating the launch of the UAE during the year 2024, the “Zayed Heritage Initiative”. Humanitarian “worth 20 billion dirhams, to support humanitarian actions globally.

She noted the announcement of the Emirates International Aid Agency to provide 100 million dollars to support the Global Alliance to Combat Hunger and Poverty, as the total external aid since the founding of the Federation in 1971 to 2024 amounted to about 360 billion dirhams, which had a great impact in reducing poverty and enhancing a culture of peace as well as Emirati investments supporting the countries that suffer economically as a result of conflicts, which the International Monetary Fund estimated for 2025 at about 50 billion dollar.
She also pointed to the launch of the fourth batch of the initiative of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak to empower women in peace and security in June 2024, which focuses on empowering women, establishing communication networks between women concerned with working in the military field and peacekeeping, and increasing the representation of women in the peacekeeping forces, and the state also supported all efforts aimed at paying peace initiatives for Sudan, avoiding imminent starvation, and providing relief support with a value 600.4 million dollars since its humanitarian crisis began.
The association praised the mediation efforts made by the UAE between the Republics of Russia and Ukraine, and resulted in the completion of 13 exchanging prisoners of war on both parties, with a total of 3,233 prisoners since the beginning of the crisis in 2024, praising the success of the Emirati efforts in the exchange of two prisoners between the United States of America and the Russian Federation in December 2022.
The Union for Human Rights Association drew attention to the fixed commitment to the Emirates in strengthening the peace project, as it submitted in May 2024 a draft resolution in the eligibility of the State of Palestine to obtain full membership at the United Nations during an extraordinary emergency session of the General Assembly, and it won the General Assembly vote by a majority in favor of accepting the decision, in a historical step on the path of peace.
