Three people were killed, while others were injured, as a result of an ambulance helicopter in the sea off the coast of southwest Japan.

Saving passengers and recovering bodies

The Japanese Coast Guard said in a statement today, Monday, that the rescue teams managed to save the “Pilot, Mechanic and Nurse” helicopter crew, after they were found in the water while they were clinging to the survival collars, and the coast guard deployed two planes and three ships in the afflicted area, as part of the efforts made to save passengers and remove the bodies.
The helicopter was on its way from Nagazaki Airport to a hospital in Fukuka when it was destroyed. The Coast Guard confirmed that the investigations are still continuing to determine the accurate causes that led to this tragic accident.
