Abdullah bin Zayed receives the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the European Parliament
Abu Dhabi, April 16 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the European Parliament headed by His Excellency David McClestter.
During the meeting, which was held today in Abu Dhabi, the cooperation relations between the UAE and the European Union were reviewed, and ways to enhance them to serve the common interests of both sides.
The two sides also touched on the recent announcement of the launch of negotiations on the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and the European Union, and the importance of this step in achieving a qualitative shift in cooperation relations between the two sides, especially in the economic, commercial and investment sectors.
His Highness welcomed the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the European Parliament, stressing the strength and depth of relations between the UAE and the European Union, and the mutual keenness to enhance the prospects of bilateral cooperation in various vital sectors, in order to achieve the common interests of both parties and serve peace and development at the regional and international levels.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the European Parliament also discussed all the current developments in the region, and ways to enhance the efforts made to consolidate the pillars of regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al -Hajri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Commercial Affairs, and His Excellency Mohamed Al -Sahlawi, the country’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the European Union and the Greater Luxembourg.
