Higher Education: 125 thousand students who study in Egyptian universities

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed that the Egyptian state is keen to support expatriate students and provide an attractive educational environment for them within universities, based on its belief in the importance of education as a bridge to communicate and rapprochement between peoples. The expatriate students are an extension of Egypt’s soft power, and that the Ministry continues to develop the higher education system in a way that keeps pace with international standards and guarantees a stimulating academic environment, with the expansion of distinguished programs and support for international partnerships to attract more students from different countries of the world. The number of expatriate students studying within the higher education system is about 125,000 students distributed over public, private and private universities, and they belong to 119 countries from different continents, which reflects the increasing confidence in the quality of Egyptian university education and its ability to absorb students of various backgrounds. He also indicated that the platform & quot; I study in Egypt & quot; It witnessed a major development in 2024, as it became integrated services to facilitate the procedures for enrollment in Egyptian universities, which contributes to attracting more students from around the world.

He explained that the expansion of attracting expatriate students contributes to supporting the civilizational role of Egypt, and enhances its position as a leading country in the field of higher education at the region level. He stressed that the ministry is working to strengthen these partnerships with brotherly and friendly countries to achieve joint development and keep pace with the needs of international development. He added that the platform & quot; I study in Egypt & quot; It is witnessing a continuous development to be more efficient in providing services to expatriate students, noting that the increase in the number of expatriate students reflects international confidence in the quality of Egyptian higher education, and the Ministry’s success in developing the education system in line with international standards. Egypt & quot; It witnessed an evolution in 2024 to facilitate enrollment procedures and provide integrated services. Contests and events were also launched to enhance cultural and social integration, in addition to the participation of students in sports, cultural activities and educational and entertainment trips to various Egyptian governorates and landmarks, which included visits to 57357 Hospital, Beni Suef Cement Factory, Alexandria Library, and the Cairo International Book Fair with the participation of students of 8 nationalities, and an educational visit to the National Liver Institute and the Umram Hospital in Menoufia with participation 113 students from 7 universities, trips to Luxor and Aswan, and a visit to the landmarks of Islamic Cairo with the participation of 45 students from 13 nationalities.
