المملكة: Opinion polls show that Trump’s popularity declines among Americans
Opinion polls, whose results were published on Wednesday, showed that the popularity of US President Donald Trump has declined since his return to the White House, with Americans criticizing his performance in major files related to economics and immigration.
Since his return to the presidency of a second non -consecutive term, the Republican billionaire has begun a series of procedures, from customs definitions to curbing immigration, stressing that he is carrying out a mandate that American voters granted to him.
However, a poll conducted by the Economist and the Yogov Center, showed the decline in the popularity of the president, who is currently supporting 41% of Americans, compared to about 50% in January.
Trump’s support rate
Another poll conducted by the Pew Research Center showed that the support rate for the president’s performance decreased from 47% in February to 40% currently, which is a significant rate compared to what his predecessor Joe Biden won in April 2021 and was 59%.
The support rate of Trump is 45% in the first three months of his second term, the lowest than that of all US presidents who were elected after the Second World War, according to the Gallup Foundation for Analysis and Consulting.
Surprise in global markets
The results also show that Americans lose confidence in Trump’s ability to deal with major files similar to the economy.
Voters promised last year that the economy is one of the 78 -year -old billionaire strengths, but imposing customs duties on the United States trading partners this month caused a surprise in global markets.
Currently, about 54% of Americans feel that the economic situation is getting worse compared to 37% in January, according to the Economist/Ugov poll.
Living cost file
A Reuters poll with the Epsos Institute showed that the support rate of Trump is significantly low in the cost of living, as only 31% of Americans expressed their satisfaction with his performance.
The inflation was a hot file in the election campaign for the presidential entitlement in November 2024, during which Trump pledged to reduce prices as soon as he took over the presidency.
The popularity of the Republican President also registered a decline in the immigration file, which is among the points of his strength, and Trump followed a tough approach to irregular immigrants, which put him in a confrontation with the judiciary.
Trump administration for the immigration file
The Economist/Yogov poll concluded that 45% of Americans support the Trump management method for the immigration file, compared to 50% two weeks ago.
Opinion polls also show the decline in support for population segments that mainly contributed to Trump’s return to the presidency by preferring him to his democratic competitor, Kamala Harris.
Among them are voters of Handanic origin whose support for the president fell from 36% in early February to 27%, according to the Pew Center poll.
