King Faisal Center’s rare manuscripts shine at the Louvre Museum in Paris

The King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies participated in the “Mamluk era: 1250-1517 AD”, held at the Louvre Museum in the French capital, Paris, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Center’s Board of Directors.
This participation comes as an affirmation of the center’s role in highlighting the Islamic cultural heritage on the world stage.

260 rare artifacts

The Assistant Secretary -General for Scientific Affairs, representative of the center’s management, explained. Abdullah bin Humaid al -Din that the exhibition activities were shown in the Napoleon Hall in the Louvre Museum during the period from April 30 to July 28, and includes 260 rare artifacts from various international museums.
He revealed that the participation of the King Faisal Center came through the presentation of two of the precious possessions of its holdings, namely: the Qur’an of the six, one of the finest Mamlukias, and returns to the eighth century AH – the fourteenth of AD, and is characterized by the beauty of its line and its accurate decoration, and the manuscript of the “Abra and the Court The Grandumin, and is considered one of the most important intellectual works that were established in that era.
The center’s participation reflects its continuous commitment to supporting the spread of knowledge, preserving the Islamic cultural heritage, and working to present it to the world through the highest international platforms and museums.
