"Abu Dhabi Book" It reviews the role of educational institutions in promoting awareness of Islamic dialogue

Abu Dhabi, May 3 / WAM / The Wing of the Council of Muslim Elders organized, within the framework of its cultural and knowledge activities, at the 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, a seminar entitled: “The role of educational institutions in spreading awareness of the importance of Islamic-Islamic dialogue”, presented by His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, Director of Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities, and Dr. Tariq Shawky, former Minister of Education and Technical Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Al -Dhahiri stressed, at the beginning of the symposium, that the humanities represent the intellectual basis on which states and civilizations are built, because of the values, morals and lofty meanings, saying: The humanities today include sociology, psychology and philosophy, which is the basis of civilized development, and it is necessary to attend its active in our cultural and knowledge scene.
He pointed out that the Islamic -Islamic dialogue constitutes an essential pillar to enhance the understanding between the various schools of thought and schools of Islamic thought, pointing to the importance of overcoming the historical differences that claimed innocent lives, in favor of a speech that brings together and does not differentiate.
He praised the efforts of the Council of Muslim Elders headed by His Excellency the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, and the efforts of the Secretary -General of the Council His Excellency Counselor Mohamed Abdel Salam, in spreading and promoting the culture of dialogue and human coexistence, explaining that the Council of Muslim Elders is today a pioneer in the field of dialogue, whether at the level of dialogue between religions or within Islamic sects.
He said that the council has played a pivotal role in caring for the human brother’s document, which is one of the most important documents in the history of religious dialogue, and the virtue of Imam al-Tayyib is keen to support the Islamic-Islamic dialogue through pioneering initiatives, the most prominent of which is the “Call of the Qiblah” document, which aims to enhance dialogue and understanding between different Islamic sects and work on the unity of the Islamic class.
For his part, Dr. Tariq Shawky stressed, “The development of educational curricula must be based on the consolidation of values since childhood, noting that the most prominent challenge facing us today lies in the rapid change of time, and the growing gap between generations, so we cannot apply the curricula that were previously taught to the current generations, explaining that the teacher and the family must be convinced before the student of the new curricula.”
He called for a comprehensive review of what is offered to children, and to expand the scope of initiatives that establish identity and language, stressing that investing in human wealth is the most important investment, and a conscious media must support these efforts.
