المملكة: Set 9.6 tons of corrupt meat and foodstuffs in a joint campaign

The Municipality of Jeddah Governorate destroyed 9.2 tons of spoiled and unknown meat, which was seized inside random sites within the Umm Al -Salam municipality, in order to complete the field campaigns implemented by the Secretariat with the participation of the relevant authorities.
It aims to monitor irregular activities, including food storage sites in violating and unsafe ways.

The Secretariat explained that the campaign, which was carried out by the General Administration of Monitoring and Treating negative phenomena, revealed three popular houses managed as secret warehouses, as it was seized in two sites 9,200 kg of the corrupt and unknown resistance stored within 25 large refrigerators, and the quantities were immediately destroyed by the sub -municipality, and the officials’ notification of the review.

Expired

The Secretariat added that the raid of the third site resulted in the seizure of 420 kg of expired food, which included frozen poultry products, unknown source, and the materials were destroyed immediately, and the completion of regular procedures for them.
She pointed out that the supervisory teams confiscated 900 cartons of food and consumer suitable for use, which varied between: dry materials, drinks, detergents, home tools, and baby milk, which were delivered to the Charitable Society to benefit from.

Field campaigns

The Jeddah Municipality explained that the field campaigns have the participation of several government agencies, including the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Ministry of Commerce, the Food and Drug General Authority, and the security authorities.
