"Hair nights" Sultan Al -Owais is honored and celebrates the creativity of the people of determination in "Book fair"

Abu Dhabi, May 5 / WAM / The Council of “Nights of Poetry” hosted within the activities of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025 organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, an evening entitled “Leading Poetry and the Sea of the Sea” highlighted the biography and march of the great Emirati poet Sultan bin Ali Al Owais, one of the most prominent pioneers of poetry in the Arab Gulf region.
Participated in the evening, which was held in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts, His Excellency Ibrahim Al -Hashemi, Executive Director of the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, and Professor Youssef Eid, former director of the Faculty of Arts at the Lebanese University, and was moderated by Dr. Youssef Hitti, Professor of Modern Literature at the United Arab Emirates University.
The evening reviewed the rich poetic and human heritage of Al -Awais, as Professor Youssef Eid addressed the influence of the sea and women in his poems, while His Excellency Ibrahim Al -Hashemi reviewed the humanitarian side in his life, pointing to his hidden initiatives in serving society, and its role in establishing a prominent cultural institution.
The event also witnessed a parallel evening entitled “Echo of the Poem” in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, during which a group of poets of determination were honored, in an initiative confirming that creativity does not know barriers.
The poet Masoud Al -Ahbabi, who won the “Poet of Death” award at the Sheikh Zayed Festival, gave poems beating with determination and wisdom. The journalist, Aref Omar, the director of the session, the volunteer poet Mona Al -Hammadi with a special greeting, in appreciation of her continuous giving despite the movement’s challenges.
