The World Council for Tolerance and Peace welcomes the decision to lift sanctions on Syria
Abu Dhabi, May 14/ WAM/ The World Council for Tolerance and Peace welcomed the decision of His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America regarding the lifting of the sanctions imposed on Syria, stressing that this decision came in its appropriate time to constitute an important step towards re -stability and building a bright future in Syria.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Muhammad Al -Jarwan, Chairman of the Council, stressed that this trend reflects an increasing awareness of the importance of supporting the peaceful path in Syria, because of the good and interest of the Syrian people, development and stability regionally and internationally, and allowing Syria to be a platform for dialogue, coexistence and development.
He praised the role of the active Arab leaders who contributed to creating the atmosphere for such a decision, and contributed to pushing towards finding political solutions that enhance regional stability.
He added that the World Council for Tolerance and Peace, which works to spread the culture of tolerance and promoting peace around the world, sees in this decision a spark of hope for Syria’s return to its Arab and international surroundings, calling on the international community to continue supporting efforts to achieve a fair and permanent peace in the region.
