" Council of Muslim Elders" : Coexistence, tolerance and peace are the pillars of the progress and prosperity of societies

Abu Dhabi, May 16 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elderly, headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, stressed the importance of strengthening international efforts to spread and enhance the values of coexistence, tolerance, peace, and stop the wars and conflicts that our world witnesses today, and work on h a clear strategy to combat speeches of hatred, violence and Islamophobia, in a way that contributes to the progress and prosperity of societies.
The council said in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Living Together in Peace, which corresponds to May 16 of each year that the teachings of the true Islamic religion call for respecting the other, and preserving the dignity of man, whatever its color, race or religion, explaining that the promotion of peace is a firm Islamic principle called by our true religion, making it an essential base for this nation, and linking the life of Muslims closely with the concepts and meanings of peace.
His Excellency Counselor Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary -General of the Council of Muslim Elderly, said that today the world is in desperate need to prevail over the voice of reason, dialogue, tolerance, coexistence and peace in the face of the wars, conflicts, conflicts, and escalation of our world today’s wars, conflicts, conflicts and escalation of hate speeches, intolerance and Islamophobia.
He added that on the international day to live together in peace, we emphasize the importance of working to establish the values of justice, coexistence, equality, respect for pluralism, diversity and upholding the value of man as a focus of every progress and development describing peace as the perfect and only choice to build a promising future for future generations, which is dominant living and stability without discrimination.
