The Minister of Health confirms Egypt’s commitment to enhancing local manufacturing of health products

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar drew attention to the decisive importance to enhance Africa’s ability to produce medicines, vaccines and medical equipment locally, especially in light of the challenges revealed by the & laquo; Cofide-19 & RAQUO; Pointing out that this trend represents a strategic necessity to ensure health security for the continent and reduce dependence on the oscillating external supply chains. The vanguard of African countries in the field of pharmaceutical control, in addition to establishing advanced factories for the production of drugs and effective pharmaceutical raw materials, where there are currently more than 170 pharmaceutical production factories, which enhances the self -sufficiency of basic drugs. and pointed out that Egypt has made remarkable progress in the field of vaccine manufacturing, through its partnership with international companies to produce vaccines & laquo; Coffee-19 & RAKUO; Locally, expand the capabilities & laxira & raquo; To become a regional center for the production of vaccine, confirming Egypt’s commitment to support the partnership of vaccine manufacturing in Africa, including the partnership of African vaccines (PAVM), which aims to produce 60% of the vaccines that the African continent needs locally by 2040.

and with regard to medical devices and supplies, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed that, that, great attention By expanding Egyptian capabilities in their production, including pressure measuring devices, surgical tools, and rapid diagnosis reagents, in light of the concern that local production is in line with the best international standards, and work to establish a strong industry for medical technology in Egypt, capable of competing and meeting local needs and the needs of brothers on the continent. Health, exchange of experiences and technology, facilitate the movement of investments, and the development of unified purchase mechanisms, to ensure that African countries obtain health products at reasonable prices, stressing the importance of activating the African Pharmaceutical Agency (AMA) to enhance cooperation and coordination between African countries in this field.
