Sharjah University Graduates Association inaugurates its first branch outside the Arab world in Spain

Madrid, May 24 / WAM / Sharjah University launched a new branch of its graduate league in the Kingdom of Spain, to prepare the seventh branch internationally and the first outside the Arab domain, as part of its continuous efforts to strengthen the network of its graduates at the global level.
The announcement of the establishment of the association’s executive committee in Spain came during an official meeting organized by the Association in cooperation with the state embassy in Madrid, in the presence of His Excellency Ibrahim Ali Al -Naimi, the Chargé d’Affairs at the embassy, and His Excellency Dr. Salah Taher Al -Hajj, Deputy Director of the University for Community Affairs, Dr. Amal Al Ali, Director of the Graduate Association Office, and Dr. Ahmed Al Mahdi, Director of the University Scholarship Unit, along with a number of university graduates from various specialties residing in Europe and America Latin.
The establishment of the new committee aims to enhance sustainable communication between the graduates and the university, and to activate their role as academic and professional ambassadors of the university, in a way that contributes to supporting its vision and mission on the international scene.
In his opening speech, His Excellency Ibrahim Al -Nuaimi expressed his pride in this initiative, praising the efforts of Sharjah University in strengthening its ties with its graduates outside the state, stressing that such steps reflect the UAE’s vision in expanding the academic and cultural extension globally, and opening new horizons for cooperation with educational institutions in Europe and Latin America.
His Excellency Dr. Salah Taher Al -Hajj reviewed the most prominent achievements of the university, pointing to its distinguished position as a leading educational institution that combines academic excellence and international openness, as he pointed to the features of the new strategic plan for the university “2024-2030” that was launched under the slogan “upgrading the university to the top of excellence”, which focuses on five main axes that include excellence in education, sustainable scientific research, enabling Emirati researchers, and partnership Community, promoting international relations.
For her part, Dr. Amal Al Ali stressed that the establishment of the Association branch in Spain is an extension of the series of international branches that were established in advance in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sultanate of Oman, Jordan and Bahrain, noting the importance of the role that graduates play in supporting the institutional and academic presence of the university at the international level.
Wafaa Laloui, Chairman of the New Committee and Graduate of the College of Engineering at the University of Sharjah in 2021, and a student student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, expressed her pride in belonging to the university, confirming the committee’s commitment to activating communication between the graduates, and building an interactive network that contributes to the consolidation of academic identity and enhancing community and scientific participation.
