2024-2025 .. The season of the heroes of the heroes to the podiums
Abu Dhabi, May 25 / WAM / The football season 2024 – 2025 witnessed the return of a number of ancient clubs to the coronation platforms after the absence of decades in some cases, in a rare phenomenon in one season, amid the dominance of major clubs on local and continental championships during the past years.
The crowning of the German club Stuttgart in the German Cup, after its victory over Armenia Pelefield 4-2, was one of the most prominent stations this season, as the club regained the title after an absence of 28 years, and achieved its first crowning since winning the German league in the 2006-2007 season.
Also in Germany and the beginning of the current season, Bayer Leverkusen crowned the Super Cup for the first time in its history, after more than three decades from the first attempt, and added to him the German League title for the first time, and the German Cup after an absence since 1993.
On the English level, Crystal Palace won the FA Cup for the first time since its foundation 120 years ago, after beating Manchester City, and Newcastle United won the English League Cup, after an absence of 70 years from the coronation platforms.
In Italy, the Bologna club achieved a major surprise by crowning the cup title after its victory over Milan, to add the third title in its history, and the first in more than half a century. On the other hand, Barcelona maintained its local hegemony in Spain, after winning the league, cup and the Super Cup, which is the same scenario in France with Paris Saint -Germain.
In the continental championships, Tottenham Hotspur won the European League title at the expense of Manchester United, to win his first title in European competitions since 1984. ADAREDA was crowned the Scotland Cup for the eighth time in its history after an absence of 35 years, and the Dutch “Joe Eagles” team achieved its first major title in 92 years, by winning the Netherlands Cup.
Arab, Sharjah Club won its first continental title, crowning the AFC Champions League 2, while Al -Ahly won the AFC Champions League for the first time in its history.
The season concludes with the anticipation of the Champions League final, where Paris Saint -Germain is seeking to achieve its first titles in the competition, while Inter Milan hopes to return to the European coronation platform after 15 years.
This season, with the multiplicity of its historical surprises and coronation, confirms that football is still able to rewrite history, and give the ancient clubs an opportunity to return to the fore.
