2500 charging stations for electric cars at the end of this year

Car agencies said that there is a great acceleration in the construction of electric vehicle charging stations in the Emirates, so that the number of charging stations increases to 2500, after adding 500 new stations expected at the end of this year, with the use of high -speed chargers, to reduce the shipping time, which greatly enhances the ease of using electric vehicles inside cities and on highways.
She added to «Emirates Today» that there are expansion projects under implementation, to ensure the availability of stations even in remote areas and new cities, noting that the UAE is distinguished by the highest percentage of electric vehicle charger globally, compared to the number of these vehicles.
And I expected that, in the coming years, it would be available with high -speed chargers with a charging capacity ranging between 500 and 600 kW, which would reduce the battery charge time significantly, to reach 80% within five to 10 minutes.
Charging stations
In detail, the Director General of “Audi Al -Naboodah Motors”, Jean -Shidagin, said that “there is a great acceleration in the construction of the vehicle charging stations in the Emirates, coinciding with the decrease in the prices of the purchase of these vehicles, as the number of public freight stations in the country exceeded the barrier of the 20,000 stations, at the beginning of this year, and Dubai acquires a large percentage of them, through the network (the green charger) of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Diwa).”
He added that, according to the plans established, more than 500 new stations are scheduled to be established by the end of this year, bringing the number to more than 2500 shipping stations at the end of the year, which greatly enhances the ease of using electric vehicles inside cities and on highways.
Shidagin pointed out that in Dubai alone there are more than 740 stations for the “green charger” of “Dio”, with plans to raise the number to more than 1,000 stations by the end of this year, noting that “the infrastructure of the shipping stations in the country is currently being established, through an active partnership between the public and private sectors, where (Diwa) leads the expansion efforts in public stations, while companies such For distribution) on expanding the scope of rapid charging stations at the state level, as well as an increasing number of real estate developers, commercial centers and hotel brands began to include shipping stations within their projects, to meet the increasing demand from population and visitors.
Shipping efficiency
He stressed that there is a clear trend towards increasing the speed and efficiency of charging in line with the acceleration of the adoption of electric vehicles, and government and private agencies are working to install stations capable of charging the battery by up to 80%, within less than 30 minutes, indicating that the “Nabooda” showroom in Dubai provides the ability to quickly charging this speed, while most of the home charging devices that the agency provides with (E-Tron) cars support Full shipping during the night.
And Shidagin expected that this year will witness an accelerated growth in investment in high -capacity charging stations, with the government’s dependence on a unified tariff for fast shipping, indicating that the continued expansion of the fast charging network and clarifying the mechanisms of household chargers will contribute to making the transition to electric cars more easily.
He stressed that the next stage of the growth of demand for electric vehicles will be moved by various factors, the most important of which is the expansion of infrastructure and the acceleration of shipping times, along with factors related to comfort, multiple options and the cost of ownership.
“There is continuous growth in sales of electric vehicles in the Emirates, driven by the expansion of infrastructure and government incentives, coinciding with the country’s aspiration until 50% of the vehicles are on roads, electric by 2050, and the increase in public awareness of the importance of sustainability.”
Infrastructure
For his part, the general manager of the “Al Habtoor Motor Company”, Karim Maksoud, said that “the infrastructure of the electric car shipping stations in the Emirates witnessed an accelerated growth, which reflects the state’s commitment to sustainable transportation”, explaining that “Dua” is currently operating about 740 charging stations in Dubai, and aims to raise the number to 1000 stations by the end of the current year, and these expansions include the use of high -speed chargers, To reduce shipping time.
He added that more than 500 new shipping stations are being planned at the state level at the end of this year, to expand the scope of electric cars support and reduce carbon emissions, driven by the ongoing initiatives offered by “Dua”, “ADNOC Distribution” and the private sector, pointing out that there are already confirmed expansion projects under implementation, to ensure the availability of stations even in remote areas and new cities.
Maqsoud revealed that there is a clear orientation in the sector to develop faster charging techniques, as the use of super shells began at a speed of more than 150 kilowatts in spreading, and there are projects targeting speeds of up to 350 kW, and consumers will notice during the next few years, a great improvement in shipping times, which will make the electrical driving experience more comfortable and attractive.
He noted that the most prominent challenge regarding infrastructure is to ensure the availability of rapid charging regularly in the lowest populations, noting that overcoming these obstacles requires continuous cooperation between manufacturers and government agencies and private companies, to ensure easy use, provide information, and enhance the purchasing power of consumers.
For his part, Audi Abu Dhabi General Manager, Scott Sherez, said that “the UAE is distinguished by the highest percentage of electric car chargers globally compared to the number of these vehicles, and is currently working on implementing ambitious plans to double these chargers by 2027, with a special focus on strengthening fast charging stations in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai,” adding that “the great growth in the infrastructure to charge electric cars in the country will be formed An additional motive for consumers towards the acquisition of these vehicles. ”
He noted that electric car charging techniques are witnessing an accelerated development, as the current available shipping devices allows a shipping force of 350 kW, and “Audi Abu Dhabi” provides this feature as a free service to Audi E-Tron’s customers in its locations in Abu Dhabi, expected to be available in the coming years, high-speed chargers with a charging capacity ranging between 500 and 600 KW, which will reduce the battery charge dramatically, to 80% in only five to 10 minutes. He stressed that the investment in the expansion of the electric cars charging network to include cities and distant areas is of utmost importance, as well as the need to find solutions to the challenges of compatibility problems between freight devices and various electric vehicle models, in addition to the variation of shipping speeds, in a way that contributes to enhancing consumer confidence.
Governmental agents and bodies
“The group) adopted a strategy that includes active work with agents, government agencies and relevant agencies from the private sector, to expand the shipping infrastructure in the main markets, as it supplied more than 110 agents for agents with vehicle class sites with the charging feature, to provide a smooth experience and support for development Infrastructure in cities. ”
He added that the “Onstar” communication feature recently launched a new package, which includes a reinforced control of charging for electric vehicles, and the immediate benefit from all freight and operating stations for a longer period, and raising the charging levels for electric vehicles, in addition to the flexibility and smart use of energy.
