The start of the 39th meeting of the “Cosbas-Sarat” organization in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, May 27 / WAM / The work of the thirty-ninth annual meeting of the World Research and Rescue Organization through the Global Satellite Telecomings Program “Cospas-Sarspas-Harsat”, which is organized by the National Center for Research and Salvation of the National Guard, during the period from May 27 to June 5, 2025, under the auspices and attendance National Guard.
This is the first meeting of the organization hosted by the UAE, and under its umbrella brings together more than 200 participants from 45 countries and international organization specialized in the fields of satellite search and rescue, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Brigadier Rashid Al -Naqbi, Director General of the National Center for Research and Rescue, stressed, during his opening speech, that hosting the UAE for this international event is a real translation of the leading national vision in supporting humanitarian initiatives and enhancing national capabilities in the field of research and rescue.
He said that the UAE is committed to building strategic partnerships and exchanging experiences with international bodies, which contributes to saving lives, and upgrading the readiness of the emergency response according to the highest international standards.
He added that this event is a qualitative opportunity to highlight the readiness of the National Center for Research and Rescue, and to review its active contributions within the international system, stressing the center’s commitment to continuing the development of technical and human performance according to the best global practices.
For his part, Allen Nox, head of the delegation of the “Cosbas-Sarat” organization, head of the 39th meeting of the Joint Committee, said in his speech that the program meetings are held in the UAE for the first time in its history, which represents an important station in our march, praising the professional organization and great support from the UAE and the National Center for Research and Rescue.
He added that these meetings constitute the cornerstone of enhancing the effectiveness of the global research and rescue system, by providing a platform to coordinate international efforts, exchange knowledge, and review the latest technologies and experiences in this vital field, looking forward to fruitful outputs that directly reflect on the development of rescue services, and improve response speed and accuracy, in a way that contributes to saving more lives around the world.
The first day of the agenda included a number of closed sessions, which discussed pivotal issues related to enhancing the effectiveness of satellite alarm systems, and improving data exchange mechanisms and coordination between the competent international bodies.
