Dubai, May 27 / WAM / In the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Culture and Arts Authority in Dubai, the Dubai Media Council platform hosted at the Arab Media Summit 2025, His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Jumaa Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Media Corporation in a session entitled “Dialogue with Media and Inspiration Pioneers”, during which Hamid bin Karam, editor -in -chief of Al -Bayan newspaper, From his life and beginnings in the field of media and the qualitative shift that Dubai witnessed to become a regional and global media center.
The session was attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Media Council and His Excellency Mona Ghanem Al -Marri, Vice President Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, President of Dubai Press Club, Chairman of the Organizational Committee for the Arab Media Summit, His Excellency Nihal Badri, Secretary -General of the Dubai Media Council, and a group of Emirati media leaders and young media professionals.
His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Jumaa Al Maktoum said that he started the field of media work with television directing and then moved to the press, indicating that during the school study period he was editing news published in the school wall in the school, and he also found motivation and encouragement from his teachers to deliver a morning speech, which inspired him to continue in the field of media.
His Highness added that he graduated from Britain in the field of television directing, then he studied the press and worked for a training period in the British Times newspaper, during which he gained qualitative experiences that contributed to the formation of his professional vision, then he returned to the state before the establishment of the union, and at that time there was no local newspapers, while the Dubai Municipality was publishing a newspaper called “Dubai News”.
He pointed out that he worked in the media department in the Dubai Municipality, which is responsible for issuing the newspaper that was printed in Dubai Press, in which only two employees worked, one of which was, from which the nucleus of the official media was launched in the emirate, and the project was later crystallized by launching Dubai TV after the establishment of the Federation.
His Highness explained that after it was decided to establish the Al -Bayan newspaper in Dubai based on the directives of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may God bless him, he was working with a daily effort daily between television and the newspaper, where he was attending the liberation meeting in the morning in the newspaper for comparison between it and other local newspapers in terms of the published materials, its quality and quality To follow it until the date of printing.
His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Jumaa Al Maktoum affirmed his belief that the media is not just a means of reporting news, but rather a mirror of civilization and voice of a homeland, indicating that Dubai was not satisfied with keeping pace with development, but rather participated in its industry.
His Highness pointed out that the media and newspapers have become threatened by social media, pointing out that some newspapers did not keep pace with the development that took place in the world.

His Highness stressed the need for both newspapers and television and radio stations to keep pace with the changes in the sector by developing their capabilities and the capabilities of their workers, in line with the requirements of the current and next era, and said that success today for those who know how to mix the traditional and new media, and provides professional and influential content that keeps pace with the times and respects the mind.
His Highness stressed the importance of benefiting more than the experiences of the media pioneers, pointing out that their celebration is necessary and important, but the most important thing is to benefit from their great experiences in the field, especially since they possess what education or universities cannot provide, which are practical experiences in the media field field.
His Highness stressed the need for the media to be specialized and intellectually, so that the intellectual is a sporting specialist in sports media, and the same matter for the economy, art and other fields, pointing out that the most prominent challenges facing the media administration are how to choose the appropriate person for the appropriate place or program.
His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Jumaa Al Maktoum called for the necessity of launching and allocating guidance programs that address young people and society in all its sects so that it provides useful content to spread awareness among members of society, stressing His Highness the importance of upgrading media work by developing media cadres and developing their skills.
