The United Nations: The recent attacks on the ports of Hodeidah affected the humanitarian response in Yemen

“Any possible declines in the capacity of ports or restrictions on the movement of food, fuel and medicines are very concerned, especially at a time when 19.5 million people in Yemen need humanitarian aid and depend on these resources to survive,” United Nations spokesman, Stephen Dujarric, told reporters in New York on Thursday.

Mr. Dujarik reminded that Secretary -General Antonio Guterres has repeatedly called for reducing escalation and respect for international humanitarian law, “Including the protection of civilians and the infrastructure they depend on to meet their basic needs.”

Mr. Dujarik confirmed yesterday that the continuous military confrontation between the Houthis and Israel “A very fragile situation has already aggravated in Yemen and the region as a whole,” He stressed that the attacks on civil infrastructure, including Sanaa airport in Yemen and Ben Gurion Airport in Israel, “Unacceptable.”
