“It is unacceptable that the Palestinians risk their lives for food,” said United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres, expressing his dismay about the reports received by the international organization, and it is reported to kill and wound Palestinians as they seek assistance in Gaza yesterday.

In a statement to his deputy spokesperson, the Secretary -General called for an immediate and independent investigation into these events and to hold their perpetrators accountable.

He stressed the need to re -introduce humanitarian aid immediately on a large scale and without obstacles, to meet the enormous needs in Gaza, and also the need to allow United Nations agencies to work in safety and security in light of the full respect for humanitarian principles.
