Kuwait on June 4 / WAM / The student, Ghalia Nasser Al -Anzi, won the title of the champion of the Arab Reading Challenge in its ninth session at the level of the State of Kuwait at the conclusion of the qualifiers in which 213771 students participated from 835 schools under the supervision of 1515 supervisors and supervisors.
The student, Ghalia Nasser Al -Anzi, was crowned from the tenth grade at Umm Habib Bint Al -Aas School of the Capital Educational Zone, during the closing ceremony of the ninth session of the largest reading demonstration of its kind in the Arabic language in the world, which was witnessed by Kuwait, in the presence of Chancellor Hamad Al -Mansoori, the Chargé d’Affairs at the UAE embassy in Kuwait, and Maryam Al -Anzi, the assistant undersecretary for the educational development sector and activities in the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education, and directors of the general regions in the state Kuwait, and a large number of officials and educators in the education sector, in addition to the parents of male and female students participating in the qualifiers for the ninth session of the challenge.
Also during the ceremony, Fatima Salem Mohsen from the Jahra area was crowned with the title of “Distinguished Supervisor”, and Abraq Khaitan Intermediate School from the Khaitan area with the title of “Distinguished School”.
The student Rasha Salman Al -Khalaf won the seventh grade at Al -Nour School of the Salmiya region, the first place in the category of people of determination.
The list of the first ten who ascended to the final qualifiers at the level of the State of Kuwait, along with the student, Ghalia Nasser Al -Anzi, included Hammoud Zaid Al -Adwani from the twelfth grade in Al -Asma’i High School – Benin, affiliated The ninth in Al -Najat School (Special Education), Souq Muhammad Hussein Rizk from the ninth grade in the travel school (Special Education), Sarah Mashari Al -Mutairi from the sixth grade at the Farwaniyah Institute (Religious Education), Youssef Sharif Hamed from the eleventh grade in Fahd Al -Duwairi Secondary School for Boys (Hawalli), and Hawra Meshal Al -Khalidi from the ninth grade in the middle school of the middle school for girls (the capital) Farwaniyah (religious education).
His Excellency Eng. Sayed Jalal Sayed Abdel Mohsen Al -Tabtabaei, Minister of Education in the State of Kuwait, stressed that the increasing demand from Kuwaiti students to participate in the qualifiers for the Arab Reading Challenge reflects the wide estimate that the initiative receives, and at the same time embodies the attention of the State of Kuwait, at the official and societal levels by consolidating the culture of reading and pride in the language of conscience in the hearts of young people and spreading the culture of reading.
He explained that the Ministry of Education is continuing in its efforts to motivate students to develop their knowledge, and provide them with the skills and tools that contribute to upgrading their scientific and cultural level.
He pointed out that the ninth session of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative witnessed an unprecedented participation from 213771 male and female students from various academic levels, competing for the title of hero of the reading challenge at the national level, in preparation for the representation of the State of Kuwait in the final qualifiers hosted by the Emirate of Dubai.
His Excellency expressed his confidence in the ability of the champion of Kuwait in the ninth season, the student, Ghalia Nasser Al -Anzi, to achieve an advanced position at the Arab level at the conclusion of the Arab Reading Challenge 2025, inspired by the successes achieved by the children of Kuwait in the previous seasons, the most recent of which was achieved by the student Suleiman Al -Shammari by obtaining the third place among more than 28 million participants in the last session.
His Excellency the Kuwaiti Minister of Education congratulated the first students, supervisors and distinguished schools, appreciating the efforts of parents and all educational cadres, which had a great impact on the success of the qualifiers and achieving this qualitative achievement in a way that reflects the commitment of the education system in Kuwait to enable students to know the tools of knowledge, and enhance their cultural presence in regional and international educational forums.
For his part, Dr. Fawzan Al -Khaldi, Director of Programs and Initiatives at the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives” Foundation, affirmed that the ninth session of the Arab Reading Challenge represents a qualitative shift in the challenge march after it recorded unprecedented participation numbers, and a widespread interaction from students in 50 countries around the world, indicating that these new achievements reflect the integration of efforts and harmony of visions between the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives” Foundation The ministries and institutions concerned with education in the participating countries, and their endeavor to develop the level of students and encourage them to compete with knowledge and highlight their creative capabilities and energies and self -expression in the Arabic language.
He said that the Kuwaiti participation represented an essential part of the journey of the success of the Arab Reading Challenge since its launch in the year 2015 and the students of the sisterly State of Kuwait contributed to their excellence and interaction, in enriching this initiative in all its courses and recorded an ascending demand for participation, which is shown by the Arab Reading Challenge numbers, where the Kuwaiti attendance in the first session represents 15434 students to reach the ninth session to 213771 students It is more than 1285%, and this is calculated for everyone who contributed to achieving this achievement, provided by the Ministry of Education in the State of Kuwait.

The Arab Reading Challenge, which was launched in its first session in the 2015-2016 academic year under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God bless him”, aims to enhance the importance of reading among students participating at the level of the Arab world and the world, and developing creative thinking skills.
