Cooperation between "Energy and infrastructure" and"Agility" To enhance energy efficiency

Abu Dhabi, 19 January / WAM / The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure signed a memorandum of understanding with Agility, a global leader in logistics and infrastructure services, in a qualitative step aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and improving the economic performance of data centers and central cooling systems in the UAE, in a way that supports the readiness of the national infrastructure for the requirements of the rapid growth of artificial intelligence applications, and enhances the country’s competitiveness regionally and globally.
Under the memorandum, which was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure by His Excellency Eng. Sherif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, and on behalf of “Agility” by Tariq Sultan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, the company will employ smart control system technologies developed by “Vedra”, the world leader in artificial intelligence solutions to improve energy consumption, in order to manage energy and cooling systems and distribute operational loads in modern data centers, in light of the increasing load density and requirements for efficiency and performance.
The memorandum establishes a framework for cooperation that includes the implementation of a specialized study, in preparation for launching a pilot project to evaluate the application of enhanced learning models within industrial infrastructure. These solutions have proven their ability to reduce energy consumption by significant proportions and reduce capital expenditures associated with cooling systems, in addition to enhancing levels of safety, flexibility and operational reliability, especially in environments with high temperatures.
This partnership will enable the two sides to evaluate opportunities to expand the application of improvement solutions supported by artificial intelligence on a larger scale, which will contribute to consolidating the UAE’s position as an attractive global destination for investments in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, and supporting the goals of sustainability and energy efficiency, in line with the Climate Neutrality 2050 Strategy and the UAE Energy Strategy 2050.
His Excellency Engineer Sherif Al Olama said that enhancing the efficiency of energy-intensive infrastructure, especially data centers and artificial intelligence applications, constitutes a fundamental pillar of the UAE’s competitiveness and sustainability agenda.
He added that this partnership comes within the framework of adopting practical solutions based on advanced technology, which contribute to reducing energy consumption, enhancing the reliability of infrastructure, and consolidating the country’s leadership in developing the new generation of artificial intelligence data centers.
For his part, Tariq Sultan said that this partnership reflects the importance of integration between the public and private sectors in light of the rapid transformations led by artificial intelligence in infrastructure, where operating efficiency emerges as a crucial factor, noting that employing smart control systems contributes to transforming complex energy and cooling systems into integrated and adaptable environments, thus enhancing efficiency, flexibility and economic returns in the long term.
