The UAE participates in the seventh youth energy summit for the BRICS countries

Brazilia, on June 12 / WAM / The UAE delegation, headed by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, participated in the seventh youth energy summit for the Group of BRICS, which was hosted by the Republic of Brazil, with the participation of youth delegations representing a group of experts and professionals from member states and countries invited.

The delegation included representatives of a number of leading national agencies in the energy sector, which included the Energy Department – Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC” and the Federal Youth Corporation, the Emirates Water and Electricity Company, and the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority.

This participation comes within the framework of the state’s continuous efforts to enhance international cooperation, empowering youth, and reviewing its leadership in the field of energy transformation, in line with the seventh goal of sustainable development goals, which is to ensure that everyone gets reliable, sustainable and modern energy services at reasonable prices.

The delegation as a major speaker participated in the dialogue session, “Technology Advancements for Low -Carbon Power Systems”, where the progress made by the state was reviewed in developing smart and flexible energy -based energy -based energy systems, such as clean hydrogen, solar energy, And sustainable flying fuel.

The delegation also highlighted the leading national policies and initiatives, led by the Emirates Energy Strategy 2050, and the National Hydrogen Strategy 2050, in addition to the state’s commitment to implement the outputs of the “historic Emirates Agreement” that was achieved at the Conference of the Parties in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP28”, which was held in the city of Expo Dubai in late 2023, which calls for a fair and organized transition away from Fossil fuels, expanding the scope of renewable energy technologies, and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

The delegation stressed the importance of investing in technology and innovation, building national capabilities, and enabling young people to lead the global transformation towards low -emission energy systems.

Emirati success stories were also reviewed in the areas of clean energy, research and development, which constitute inspiring models for the countries “BRICS” and the world.

At the end of the participation, the delegation renewed the affirmation of the UAE’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with its international partners within the “BRICS” group, in order to build a more secure, sustainable, and comprehensive future in the energy sector.
