Sharjah Arts Foundation opens the door for the fellowship program "approach"

Sharjah, June 12/ WAM/ The Sharjah Arts Foundation, in cooperation with the Al -Kazi Arts Foundation, Asian Art Archive, and the “Confaret &” platform, announced the opening of the presentation of the “approach” fellowship program, which is directed to emerging art writers and veteran residents and workers in the continents of Asia and Africa, with the aim of supporting the production and publishing new critical writings in the field of contemporary art.

The program provides material and institutional support for five participants, which includes enabling them to publish two critical article each, and participate in semi -monthly electronic seminars, in addition to specialized evaluation sessions under the supervision of a group of veteran writers and critics, as well as attending a fully funded program in the Emirate of Sharjah for a week, which includes field visits and interactive sessions.

The program aims to build a vocational relationship network that includes writers, editors, publishers and academics in a way that contributes to promoting cognitive exchange and forming creative cooperation spaces that exceed geographical and cultural borders.

“Approach” seeks to enrich the artistic discourse by involving the participants in collective discussions based on historical contexts and local privacy in the region, while contributing to the continuous global dialogues about art and criticism.

The program explores the concepts associated with neighboring and openness, within the framework of a critical vision concerned with deep interaction with the artistic topic without melting in it, allowing the expansion of its scope to include multiple cultural intersections.

Writers, artists, evaluators, journalists, and academics from workers and residents in Asia or Africa can apply to the program by sending texts that interact with an artwork or art gallery, provided that the deadline for receiving requests is next July 20.
