"Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives" Quality projects to combat malnutrition are completed in 3 African countries with 5.5 million dirhams

Dubai, June 13 / WAM / The “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives”, represented by the “billion meals” campaign, announced the completion of qualitative projects to combat malnutrition in 3 African countries, namely Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal, in cooperation with the United Nations Secretary Fund “Unitlif”, as part of the strategic partnership between the two sides that started in the year 2022, in order to support societies The least fortunate around the world and enables it to meet its nutritional needs and provide a decent life for its members.
The Initiatives Foundation presented through the “billion meal” campaign, 5.5 million dirhams to enhance the “Unitlif” programs in the three African countries, by implementing long -term strategies to improve food security in those countries, where the partnership between the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives and the Universal Initiatives” and “UNESTLEF” stressed the importance of sustainable methods to combat malnutrition, such as strengthening smart agriculture climbing and introducing Locally designed solutions, enabling societies through feeding programs, as well as by addressing the root causes of malnutrition, and providing long -term support to the areas most affected by hunger.
The support of the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives” Foundation in helping “Unitlif” contributed to implementing projects to increase local food production in Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal, in addition to launching programs to empower women and economic participation, providing extensive opportunities to enhance a more comprehensive and flexible diet.

Professor Philip Dost Blazi, former Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of the Guidance Committee of the “Unitlif” board of directors, stressed the importance of sustainable and long -term solutions to combat malnutrition, and said: “Our strategic partnership with the Foundation (Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International) provides expanding these solutions, enabling the less fortunate societies to face food security challenges, and possessing the ability to adapt and flexible dealing And effective with the nutritional needs of its members.
Philip Dost Blazi appreciated the support provided by the Initiatives Foundation through “one billion meals” to help “Unitlif” in reaching large segments in Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal, and enabling her to improve her life for the better.
The strategic partnership between the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives” Foundation and “Unitlif” succeeded in completing a series of qualitative projects in the field of fighting malnutrition and promoting food security in a number of African countries, and despite the completion of these projects, they still enable societies to obtain sustainable nutritional meals in general and another.
In Niger, a 12 -month project focused in partnership with the “Gul Global” organization on the expansion of the use of subsidized seeds and climate -resistant cultivation methods, and the project benefited 168,826 individuals, and this project provides more than 1.4 million nutritious meals annually by supporting sustainable agricultural practices.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, cooperation with the United Nations Women’s Authority was made to complete a 17 -month project, and focused on providing a food series based on the “Kusava” nutrient crop, where the project was designed to empower women and improve the level of nutrition in society, and it benefited 128,558 individuals, and this project will provide 1.1 million nutritional meals annually.
In Senegal, a two -year project, in cooperation with the “Work Against Hunger”, focused on supporting integrated food flexibility, and the project benefited 33,223 individuals, and also contributed to strengthening local systems to provide reaching about 3.9 million nutritional meals annually.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “God bless him”, launched in 2022 the “billion meals” campaign to provide food support amounting to one billion meals for the poor and hunger in 50 countries, and the campaign succeeded in achieving its targets before the end of the holy month of Ramadan in 2022.
The “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives” Foundation includes dozens of initiatives and institutions that implement charitable and humanitarian work programs within five main axes, which are humanitarian and relief aid, health care and disease control, spread education and knowledge, innovation of the future and leadership, and the empowerment of societies, in a manner that supports institutional humanitarian work, achieves its sustainability and expands its positive impact, devotes a culture of hope in the region The world contributes to achieving the desired development and building a better future, and in the year 2024 the total volume of the Foundation’s spending, the largest of its kind in the region in the field of charitable, humanitarian, relief and societal work, reached more than 2.2 billion dirhams, caused a positive impact on the lives of about 149 million beneficiaries in 118 countries around the world.
It is noteworthy that in 2019, the United Nations Insteming Fund launched in 2019 to combat chronic malnutrition around the world, through a comprehensive and multiple specialist approach, and exploring innovative financing opportunities to counter gaps in global health systems, including investing in sustainable, expandable agricultural projects, in addition to programs aimed at enabling women to address chronic malnutrition among their family members and at the level of their community.
