“Mohammed bin Rashid International Initiatives” fights malnutrition in 3 African countries

The “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives”, represented by the “billion meal” campaign, announced the completion of qualitative projects to combat malnutrition in three African countries, namely Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal, in cooperation with the United Nations Instem Fund (Unitlif), as part of the strategic partnership between the two sides that started in 2022, in order to support the less fortunate societies around the world, enable them to Meeting its nutritional needs, and providing a decent life for its members.

The Foundation provided, through the “billion meal” campaign, 5.5 million dirhams to enhance the “Unitlif” programs in the three African countries, by implementing long -term strategies to improve food security in it.

The support of the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives” Foundation in helping “Unitlif” contributed to implementing projects to increase local food production in Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal, in addition to launching programs to empower women and economic participation.

“Our strategic partnership with the Foundation allows the empowerment of the less fortunate societies to face food security challenges, and to have the ability to adapt and cope and effectively with the nutritional needs of its members.

Philip Dost Blazi valued the support provided by the Foundation through “one billion meals”, to help “Unitlif” to reach large segments in Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal, and enable her to improve her life for the better.

In Niger, a 12 -month project focused in partnership with Gul Global, on the expansion of the use of subsidized seeds, climate -resistant cultivation methods, and the project benefited 168 thousand and 826 individuals. This project provides more than 1.4 million nutritious meals annually, by supporting sustainable agricultural practices.

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, cooperation with the United Nations Women was cooperated, to complete a 17 -month project, and focused on providing a food chain based on the “Kusava” nutrient crops, where the project was designed with the aim of empowering women and improving the level of nutrition in society, benefiting 128 thousand and 558 individuals, and this project will provide 1.1 million nutritional meals annually.

In Senegal, a two -year project, in cooperation with the Organization of “Work against Hunger”, focused on supporting integrated food flexibility, benefiting 33 thousand and 223 individuals, and also contributed to strengthening local systems to provide reaching about 3.9 million nutritional meals annually.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, launched in 2022 the “billion meals” campaign to provide food support amounting to one billion meals for the poor and hungry in 50 countries.

The Foundation includes dozens of initiatives and institutions that implement charitable work programs within five main axes, which are humanitarian and relief aid, health care and control of disease, spreading education and knowledge, creating future and leadership, and empowering societies, in a way that supports institutional humanitarian work, achieves its sustainability, and expands its positive impact.

In 2024, the total volume of spending the largest institution of its kind in the region in the field of charitable, humanitarian, relief and societal work was more than 2.2 billion dirhams, which caused a positive impact on the lives of about 149 million beneficiaries in 118 countries around the world.
