"Dubai Electricity" 51 ID 31 ID313 certificate is issued

Dubai, June 18 / WAM / The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has announced the issuance of 51 certificates of “D33 -friendly power certificates” for 24 companies in Dubai, since the launch of the initiative in January 2024.
This initiative allows industrial customers, technological agriculture institutions, and qualified data centers to install solar systematic systems for internal use with a capacity of up to 100% of their total energy consumption.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said that we are in harmony with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, to enhance Dubai’s position as one of the three best economic cities in the world and to enhance the emirate’s directions towards a green economy based on innovation and sustainability, and we continue to support the various vital sectors in Dubai, including the industrial sector, through Quality initiatives that contribute to environmentally responsible manufacturing support to enhance sustainability and support economic growth in the long run.
He added that the D33 friendly energy initiative contributes to enhancing Dubai’s attractiveness to industrial investments and enhancing energy efficiency, in addition to supporting the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, and the carbon neutrality strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai, to provide 100% of the production capacity of energy from clean energy sources by 2050.
His Excellency Al -Tayer explained that the friendly energy policy for industry aims to enable the industrial sector and consolidate Dubai’s position as an attractive destination for industrial investments, as it enables manufacturers, data centers and agencies working in the field of agricultural technology to install solar energy systems for internal use and a maximum of connected load, to produce the energy needed to meet their needs.
To take advantage of the friendly energy policy, the company must obtain a D33 certificate, which is issued by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the Finance Department, and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
The authority provides a comprehensive technical supervision that includes reviewing designs, linking with the network, and monitoring through smart control systems that guarantee operation with high efficiency and international standards.
It is noteworthy that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority buys the extra energy that companies produce within the friendly energy policy at a fixed price of 10.5 fils/ kilowatt hours, within certain conditions.
In addition to allowing companies in the sectors concerned with the installation of photovoltaic systems, with a maximum atomic load of the facility, the policy gives dealers other advantages that include the priority of buying international certificates for renewable energy provided by the authority, and a discount of 25% on new delivery fees with payment facilities without interest for a period of up to two years of the authority’s issuance to indicate the delivery fees or startup, either of them earlier.
