Syria is implementing the first direct international banking transformation through the Swift system

Today, the governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Abdel Qader Al -Huqar, stated that Syria has implemented this week the first direct international banking transfers through the Swift system for international payments since the 14 -year war erupted.

The move represents an important achievement in Syrian efforts to reintegrate into the global financial system.

The exclusive told “Reuters” in Damascus that the first commercial transaction was from a Syrian bank to an Italian bank, adding that “the door is open to more.”
